Many thoughts today on how to resell SEO. First, why would you? It is a growing business. Look at the trends. There is more and more emphasis on organic marketing channels. This means search engine rankings. This means link building. So more and more people will be looking for links because it can impact their business. SEO is now viable as a marketing strategy. Call it viral, or whatever, it’s growing.

So do you build an SEO capability? Or do you decide to resell SEO from another firm? There are many SEO reseller plans out there that you can look into. You can find reviews online for the various firms that specialize in reseller programs.  You can also look for press releases about the various seo reseller programs out there.  These will give you valuable sources for your research as you decide what to do with your business plan.

In the end, I believe you will conclude that SEO is definitely a growth area. You will also see that the days of setting a title tag and watching your search engine rankings are over. It is a much more involved process today. Just not that simple anymore. Competition has come and links are now the name of the game if you want to be noticed online. It takes work. And this is the biggest reason to resell SEO rather than doing the work yourself. Unless you really know what you are doing, the outcomes will be poor.

What exactly is the business case to outsource SEO? Well, I’m giving you a resource right there if you want some other reading. I read that piece and thought it was solid. The author makes some solid points about why SEO should be outsourced. And believe me, much of what I read on EzineArticles is really not that great. But this piece was well written by someone who clearly spends time in the SEO outsourcing space. So they had my attention.

I guess I see things similar to that article. If SEO is not a core competency of yours, you need to really think about the outsourced route. There are company that specialize ONLY in this activity. They are likely to be better than you at it – unless you consider SEO a core competency. If not, time to outsource. This is not unlike any other business function. It is business 101 really. Do only what you are really good at. Get rid of the rest.
